E-n-c-y-c-l-o-p-e-d-i-a

I guess you would have had to grow up with the original Mickey Mouse Club (ancient TV times, when there was hardly such a thing as color TV (and those were terrible) let alone flat-fanel HDTV displays) to know the sing-a-long tune for that long and complicated word. Encyclopedia is a mouth full, but the online World Book Encyclopedia offered through the Marin County Free Library is full in other ways as well.

Besides the complete content of the printed version (available for use at the San Geronimo Valley Library) you can get quick access to a dictionary, a detailed atlas, and features such as "Behind The Headlines" and "What's Happening This Month." There is also a special, detailed "Features of the Month" and a "California resources" link with detailed information about many different aspects of California, past and present.

But don't take my word for (don't EVER just take someone's word "for it" (especially on the Internet where false information can easily look real)), check it out for yourself.

The World Book Online Reference Center is one of the many special information databases provided, free of charge, by your Marin County Free Library. I will be reporting on others periodically, but you can always explore them all yourself.
